A company in Oregon, IL is looking for a CNC Machinist for a 1st shift opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Set-up machines, modify the program as necessary, install tool registers, and offsets
Check parts for dimensions and proper finish against prints
Install fixtures, make machine control settings, and run first piece sample parts
Run multiple machines at the same time as required
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on materials or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, handtools, and power tools
Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks
Qualifications:
High School or GED Diploma
Must be self-directed and have the ability to work with minimal supervision
Experience in a production manufacturing environment
Minimum of 5 years experience as a CNC Machinist
Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts
Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
