Job Description:

Techniplas in Jonesville, MI is looking for a Mold Setter for a 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Under general supervision, responsible for all set up of production tools, samples molds and auxiliary equipment ensuring conformance to specifications. Position requires regular and recurrent attendance - minimum of 40 hours per week.


• Sets up production tools in a timely manner to ensure minimal downtime.


• Schedule and complete daily mold changes to keep changeover downtime to a minimum.


• Install and remove production tools in injection molding presses to include auxiliary equipment such as mold heaters, hydraulic slave units, robots, super chillers, and conveyors.


• Set control board to correct parameter settings for next production job.


• Start up and shut down presses when necessary.


• Perform minor repairs to equipment on an as needed basis.


• Operates various equipment, including: forklift, hand truck, and hoist in order to move molds or equipment from one location to another.


• Work with hand tools.


• Complete all required paperwork: work orders, start-up check sheets, etc.


• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.


• Communicate with other department personnel as necessary to coordinate and ensure accurate and timely job activities.


• Completes and performs other duties/tasks as assigned by supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Must be able to work and function in a team environment. Must be proficient in basic mathematics; able to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos, able to understand and carry out verbal instructions; able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Hydraulic maintenance, tool set up, robot set up, hand tool and manufacturing or related experience a plus.


• Assignments require good working knowledge of management principles learned through experience and/or specific training or a substantial understanding of scientific principles to interpret, modify or develop standards

• Must be available to work off shifts (afternoons and midnights).


• Must demonstrate moderate speed and accuracy in operating machines and retrieving parts.


• Work involving moderate to heavy physical exertion with above average weight materials or equipment. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
