Organization Background

The NorthStar Foundation (NorthStar), established in 2014, focuses on the critical, unmet needs of North Omaha's young men, beginning in third grade, with the goal of helping them grow into healthy, educated, employed contributors to the community. NorthStar is the only single sex, male after school program in Greater Omaha.

In 2018 to address the critical need to expand its services for North Omaha young men, NorthStar adopted a major capital campaign to: (1) add approximately 37,000 sq. ft. of new classroom space to its existing 33,000 sq. ft. facility footprint, (2) expand its endowment to support organizational sustainability and (3) underwrite key, one-time infrastructure investments in systems focused on leadership development and talent acquisition, and rigorous evaluation and demonstration of program effectiveness. When complete this facilities and core infrastructure expansion will double NorthStar's programmatic reach - furnishing on-site capacity for 300 students per day after-school, 360 students daily in the summer, and annual enrollment of 850 students.
