Job Summary: Responsible for: network design and planning, capacity management, vendor evaluation, activation and deactivation of customer services, troubleshooting and fault resolution of reported and detected faults, performing effective maintenance to the equipment to prevent faults from occurring, procurement and installation of equipment for expansion and new services.

Responsibilities

Design and Deployment


  • Participates and Contributes to Architecture and Design of Equinix Cloud Services NFV and Bare Metal services

  • Develops Site Engineering Design and Deployment plans for global deployment scenarios

  • Deploys OpenStack and related cloud software for NFV/IaaS services

  • Builds Operations manuals and trains Operations teams on managing, operating, troubleshooting cloud services

Product Development Lifecycle Engagements


  • Test Phase: Acts as a function SME and participates in UATs

  • Trains the teams once UAT is complete

  • Liaise with various vendors on hardware & software roadmaps, procurement, certifications and problem 

  • resolutions 

  • Actively work with NOC in defining network monitoring and create solutions that allow proactive network monitoring 

  • Work closely with product management, sales and solutions architects, development teams and contribute to product feature requirement definitions and reviews Testing, including parallel processing phase 

  • Actively engage with Design and Architecture team in understanding and reviewing network design documents

Service Delivery


  • Understand customer requirements and define customer provisioning paths for Cloud and Edge services

  • Participates in troubleshooting network problems & outages and provide Level 2/3 

  • troubleshooting support 

Innovations


  • Participates in events like Sparkathon to trigger innovation in process

  • Uses the shared lab setups to practices the exercises published by the Global Networks Technical Leadership team

  • Participates in Simian Army based Tech drills focused on driving service excellence targeting a (break, learn, fix, resume) exercises on lab setups

Qualifications


  • 5+ years experience

  • Bachelor's Degree

Key Skills


  • Should have in depth experience in Private (Openstack based) and Public Cloud (AWS/Azure or similar)

  • Should have strong experience with Cloud networking especially related to OpenStack deployments.

  • Should be familiar with VPP/FD.io, VxLAN, EVPN and similar data center networking technologies.

  • Should have extensive understanding of Cloud Deployment Scenarios e.g. NFV stack or BareMetal deployments (IaaS/Ironic) etc. 

  • Should have experience using git, gerrit and similar CI toolsets.

  • Should have experience in deploying and configuring routers and switches

  • Should be certified in Mirantis/RedHat or are working towards it

  • Certification in Networking is an advantage (CCNA/JNCIA etc.)
