DESCRIPTION

The Bourns College of Engineering, Department of Bioengineering is seeking a Specialist who will contribute to the research in Professor Hu's lab.

The Specialist will be responsible for development methods for analyzing neuroimaging data in order to extract features from the data for the understanding of normal working of the brain and identifying changes in the brain related to neuropsychiatric disorders. The specialist will also be responsible for preparing manuscripts for journal submissions and assisting Dr. Hu in preparing grant applications and guiding students in Dr. Hu s lab. A strong background in neuroimaging, particularly the analysis of neuroimaging data and its application to brain disorders, with a solid publication record (20+ papers), is required. Experience in software development for neuroimaging data analysis and visualization using C++/Python/Matlab is required. In addition, a good understanding and experience with machine learning are required.

Specialist: Appointees should possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or have ten or more years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization. Appointees normally provide considerable independent input into the planning and execution of the research, have a significant record of academic accomplishments, including contributions to published research in the field, and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service.
