Responsibilities

Technica is looking for two Application Delivery Load Balancing Engineers with work location in Washington, DC. The candidates will be part of a Network Engineering team for our Federal customer, providing Application Delivery and Load Balancing Engineering support services for a network transport infrastructure consisting of unclassified, classified, and top-secret networks. The team ensures the availability of a reliable/robust network transport infrastructure that provides data protection for information delivered across strategic, operational and tactical boundaries.

The candidate will be responsible for Application Delivery and Load Balancing Engineer support services, providing high-level network engineering and network transport integration support services for network development/design, defining the network architecture, network transport technology testing and evaluation, and network implementation/integration of new IT services or modifications of existing services for all network transport enclaves.

Functional Responsibilities:
Analyze, design, implement and maintain the network's Load Balancer infrastructure. Inspect data packets and TCP, IP flow in network and application flow.
- Design and maintain telecommunication projects according to the telecommunications road map.
- Capable of locating and resolving capacity and performance issues and make the sure the uninterrupted operation of data telecommunications systems.
- Resolve any load balancing related issues and mitigate F5 related risk by providing solutions.
- Keep track of the emerging products, services and protocols in support of telecommunications equipment procurement.
- Configure and maintain F5 Load Balancers, load balancing best practices and WAN/LAN network management.
- Upgrade network operating systems software and hardware as per the management requirements and provide inputs into security technology plan while ensuring that the plans are integrated effectively with the other aspects of the technical infrastructure.
- Provide all the necessary support for large scale infrastructure migrations and baseline reviews.
- Technical support and expertise for operations and administration of all the F5 Load balancers used within the enterprise in order to provide reliable delivery of the FBI's most critical applications
- Provide mission and business application/tool development, integration, and maintenance

- Focus on designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining applications, tools, services, and other software in order to improve business and mission capabilities and improve application effectiveness. Services include, but are not limited to, implementing enterprise applications services to raise intelligence product quality and expand information sharing; adding, modifying, deleting functionality based on customer requirements; integrating new application architectures; upgrading and depreciating software and support tools as newer versions are released; improving application and tool quality and performance; and migrating legacy applications and tools to enterprise applications and tools to the maximum extent possible
- Provide support to integrate native cloud infrastructure with IC Cloud Infrastructure as a
- Service (IaaS) capabilities (including contract cloud services), and the delivery and
- management of Government-specific IaaS to the users to provision processing, storage,
- networks, and other fundamental computing resources where the user is able to deploy and
- run mission specific software, including operating systems and applications.
- End to End support for critical Alert Delivery Applications and Mobile application in production cloud environment
- Deployment of applications, upgrades and changes to platform capacity
- Responsible for maximizing system uptime and availability, ensuring functional and performance SLAs
- Responsible for establishing end-to-end monitoring and alerting on Mobile and Delivery Applications to ensure SLAs and get proactive notifications of possible issues for all systems
- Development of an automation program for applications in Delivery and Mobile Creation of playbooks to run when responding to alerts or incidents
- Initiate and lead scripting and automation to streamline system updates and upgrades
- Work with cloud operations team to resolve trouble tickets, developing and running scripts, and troubleshooting in a hosted environment
- Planning for disaster recovery and capacity growth.
- Works closely with cloud engineering team on product deployment models, testing and escalations.
- Develop and contribute network engineering change input for new architecture to the operational environment on both unclassified and classified networks. Tasks include developing network designs and diagrams for the configuration of network equipment (such as routers and switches) and related software, primarily in a Cisco-based environment.
- Contribute to the development and dissemination of technical documents including requirements analyses, design documents, manuals, fielding documents, and preparing contract deliverables and reports; assisting in preparation of presentation graphics.
- Oversee the designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining of applications, tools, services, and other software in order to improve business and mission capabilities and improve application effectiveness.

Requirements

- Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in technology related field or 8 year's equivalent experience or subject matter expertise in network engineering
- Network certifications such as: CCNA CCNP, CCISP, F5-CTS, F5- CSE, .
- Subject matter expertise in Load Balancing platforms, possess a working knowledge of switches, routers, and firewall concepts.
