Description
CCI Mechanical is the largest and most comprehensive HVAC and Plumbing Design-Build contractor in Utah. Because of our consistent workload and forecast of even more high-profile opportunities, we are looking for a talented and spirited Engineering Manager to lead our engineering department. This role will include consistent interaction with clients, project teams as well as the design community. Depending on the level of experience, the person will either be a team member or team leader of a conducive design group. Additional responsibilities include the following:
- Supervises all staff activities within an engineering team.
- Assigns priorities and balances workloads among the team.
- Coordinates and monitors direct/indirect labor utilization among the team.
- Responsible for quality control of work produced by the team.
- Recommends hiring, salaries, promotions, and transfers within the department.
- Oversees staff development and on-going education for the department. Ensures staff is provided ample opportunities to participate in training and career development activities.
- Ensures that project assignments for the team are completed on schedule and within budget parameters.
- When applicable, serves as the Project Manager for key department or section projects.
- Capable of performing all the engineering duties and responsibilities.
- Perform and review the analysis and design activities in completing complex and unique engineering design projects from general drawings and instructions.
- Oversee the implementation and completion of all phases of assigned projects.
- Independently perform the most difficult design requiring the application of advanced design techniques in accordance with company and industry standards and codes.
- Establish design criteria for all phases of a project requiring the application of basic engineering principles; material properties; and familiarity with construction, installation and maintenance procedures.
- Prepare detail and layout drawings and sketches of unusual, complex or original designs requiring the application of theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.

With 300 employees performing the design, fabrication, installation and service of HVAC, plumbing, process piping and building automation systems we are the leader in our markets. All preconstruction work is done utilizing BIMCad technologies (CadMech, CadDuct, Revit, Navisworks systems).

Requirements:
Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering degree is required and a minimum 5 years experience in the design of commercial or industrial projects, with 3 years management or leadership experience preferred. Role requires significant amount of person-to-person interaction with multiple types of people including clients, designers, field installers, project managers and executives so strong communication skills are necessary. Experience with LEED and sustainable design is desirable. Experience in AutoCAD and Revit are also desirable and CadMech and Cad Duct is extremely helpful.
