Social Media Freelancer at Sesame Workshop in New York, New York

Job Description:

Sesame Workshop is looking for a part-time Social Media Freelancer to support all day-to-day social media operations. This position will assist with managing the content calendar for multiple social media channels on multiple platforms, copywriting for social media posts, real-time responses, and weekly analytical reports. This role will require high attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, and excellent copywriting skills.
Please Note: This is a part-time position with a contract of 16 hours per week for 3 months.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the day-to-day management of the social media calendars for multiple channels

- Create social media posts and ensure proper approvals from internal teams

- Schedule social media content in Hootsuite

- Assist with weekly social media tracking and analytic reports using Facebook Insights, Twitter Insights, and more.

- Create social media guides for external partners around popular social media days, character birthdays and more

- Respond to comments and tweets on Sesame Workshop's many social media channels

- Assist with monitoring Sesame Workshop's social media accounts during times of crisis and provide real-time updates as needed

- Manage creative requests for social media content

- Assist with managing internal social media requests

- Assist with brainstorming new ideas for social content and upcoming campaigns as needed

Skills and Knowledge Required

- A deep understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and more.

- Experience working social media analytical tools including Facebook Insights and Twitter Insights

- Experience with Hootsuite or other social management platforms

- Strong copywriting skills and high attention to detail

- Able to demonstrate exceptional judgment, discretion and professional courtesy

- Strong sense of urgency

- Well-organized, self-motivated and positive attitude

- Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)

Education/Experience Requirements

- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations or similar experience

- Minimum of one year of professional-level experience in a social media role

- Spanish or other languages a plus
