The Opportunity
We are looking to hire a Medication Technician to join our Senior Living Team. This position is responsible for administration or assisting in the administration of medication and treatments in accordance with a resident’s health care provider’s orders. You will also be responsible for assisting residents with Activities of daily living (ADL’s) providing general supervision, and respecting residents’ rights and needs of choice. The Medication Technician must always interact with residents and family members in a caring and positive manner. Above all else, the Medication Technician must have an unparalleled passion for providing seniors an engaging and captivating living environment in order to display a commitment of excellence that interprets the All Seasons vision and brand.
Key Functions
• Provides medication assistance for residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy including pouring, preparing, assisting with administration, and documentation
• Accepts responsibility for accurate medication counts and for security of the medication cart and medication storage room for assigned shifts
• Assists in maintaining the medication cart and storage room in a neat and orderly manner
• May be called upon to assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility, as needed
• Responds to all residents needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 1-year previous experience as a Caregiver for the elderly in a residential or
long-term care setting
• Must be able to read, write and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and other staff members
• Must be able to perform the job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must complete the Medication Aide training (and certification in states where required)
