Your day-to-day will involve working with our client's executives--CFO's, VP's of Finance, and Controllers, as opposed to working with a client's Tax Department. Lastly, Armanino's open door policy will allow you access to Partners and Directors who are heavily involved in mentoring and training employees.

What You'll Do

The State and Local Tax Analyst plays an integral supporting SALT professionals and managing projects. You will work with clients to provide an service that exceeds their expectations. Each State and Local Tax Analyst is expected to be a strong communicator, creative, analytical and collaborative. You have the ability to work independently, achieve goals and have experience working in a support role.
  • The primary focus of this position will be sales and use tax compliance, but there will be will be exposure to property taxes, gross receipts taxes, credits and incentives, and unclaimed property.
  • Prepare tax returns, forms, work papers, and supporting schedules for assigned projects.
  • Assist with state notice resolution.
  • Prepare state tax registrations and other forms.
  • Perform basic research to resolve state and local tax issues.
  • Assist with preparing client deliverables.

What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of recent sales tax compliance experience in a corporate tax/accounting department or accounting firm.
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters Onesource Tax Determination, Avalara and/or Vertex sales tax compliance software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs
  • Ability to multi task
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work additional hours to meet filing deadlines, as needed.
  • Preferred, but not required - Experience with property tax compliance.
  • Preferred, but not required - Experience with online tax research tools.
  • Develop positive working relationships with Firm and client personnel
