Job Summary

The Quality Control Lead establishes and manages systems to ensure raw materials, products and processes meet Oldcastle quality standards and customer expectations. The Quality Control Lead will spend 80% of time actively involved on the production floor.

Essential Duties

 

• Manages product performance load testing according to specifications to approve production startup and generating test reports for compliance


• Manages floor process audits and product inspections and ensures they are completed and compile scores and failure reasons and work with Production and Engineering to implement materials/press/process improvements


• Manages the First Article Inspection efforts for mold/press changeovers to ensure measurements pass and prove out first part start up against machine documentation and drawing requirements


• Manages the incoming testing of raw materials and reviews data for trends and improvements and communicates variations and works with Materials Engineering for improvements


• Track scrap and % defective reason data and work with Production and Engineering to troubleshoot and find solutions and improvements to processes, documentation and machines


• Key driver in writing and maintaining Corrective Action & Preventive Action reports for the plant with root-cause identification efforts using the following: (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEAs and Control plans)


• Translate QA manual requirements into standard work processes and procedures and ensure the QA department carries out these tasks


• Manage plant calibrations and ensure all measuring equipment and inspection tools including scales, load cells, calipers, heat guns, Go no/go gauges are in tolerance

Education/Experience

• Associate's Degree or technical college degree required


• At least 5 years of manufacturing experience


• Proficient in Microsoft Office 


• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
