Job Description:

• JOB SUMMARY
  
  • Reports to Director. Performs 12-lead EKGs according to physician order, departmental policies and procedures. Performs patient education as required. Prepares tests for physician interpretation. Maintains, cleans, and calibrates diagnostic equipment.

  • Education and Experience
    
    • The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent. EKG experience is preferred.

    • Must comprehend lead placement and montage protocols.

    • Must be able to work closely with critically ill patients.
      
      
    
    
    • Must be able to work under stressful situations.
      
      
    
    
    • Exposure to potentially hazardous contagious agents due to contact with patients and chemicals.
      
      
    
    
    
    
  
  
  • Physical Demands
    
    • Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e. to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, to position/lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted, over 35 pounds requires assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.
