Arconic is seeking a Director, Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) to lead the Sustainability Program of the company. This position is a high profile, visible ESG role that will report directly to the VP of EHS with a dotted line relationship to the VP of Government Affairs and will be located Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will drive sustainability goals, build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and help create policy positions and process improvements across the organization. Profile: This position plays a key role in setting and executing the vision, objectives and plan for Arconic's environmental/sustainability, social and governance (ESG) program and communications.

Essential Functions : Responsible for both creation of strategic vision and tactical management including execution, examples include but are not limited to:


  • Lead Arconic's ESG Committee, setting objectives consistent with our values, gaining internal and external stakeholder buy in, and developing and championing metrics, reporting, and policy and process improvements.
  • Develop and implement a campaign to train and educate the company's ESG sponsors and leadership.
  • Formulate, draft and present the Company's sustainability report.
  • Partner with investor relations, corporate communications, government affairs, marketing, and legal on communications regarding the Company's commitment to ESG and minimizing the Company's global footprint.
  • Lead the development, collection, verification and reporting of all internally and externally reported ESG data and disclosures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure that effective controls and processes are in place to mitigate material ESG risks.
  • Engage with external stakeholders to champion Arconic's ESG efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of Company positions on key legislative and regulatory issues affecting ESG objectives and support the execution of government affairs strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Serve as the Company's representative on select think tanks, associations and other organizations that drive thought leadership, legislation and regulatory policy that affect the Company's ESG objectives and operating results.

Essential Knowledge/Skills/Abilities



  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills and ability to engage with high-performance teams and stakeholders at any level with a business.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
  • Superior writing ability, capable of presenting information and viewpoints in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze data, leveraging information to provide clear, concise and supported recommendations for action.
  • Capacity to work independently and simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters under deadline pressure.
  • Working knowledge of ESG issues, scoring, processes and external relationships/reporting requirements/data disclosures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legislative policy affecting ESG issues.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • 10 years' minimum of experience in a leadership role.
  • 5 years' minimum of ESG experience.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S> person as a U.S> citizen, U.S> Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
