Cavalier Logistics is seeking a full-time Export Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible to ensure customer requirements are met by being accountable for executing and overseeing tasks for each shipment in addition to daily communication, reporting, and email management. Excellent customer service and leadership skills are a must.
Responsibilities Include:
Monitor and manage shipments until completion
Prepare quotations and review customer profile, rate structure, routing alternative, etc.
Communicate with origin and destination locations regarding shipment status, special handling and delivery processes
Keep customers appraised to the export details of transactions in accordance with local office export operation procedures
Ensure accuracy and completeness of export documentation - review and verify documentation and obtain any missing documentation from the customer
Handle FCL/LCL bookings from start to finish
Handle LTL, FTL- domestic bookings from start to finish
Rate filing and FMC compliance knowledge
Review standard operating procedures to ensure compliance, TSA, Quality Assurance Standards, TAPA, FMC and IMDG
Application of proper weights, dimensions and rates
Review of shipment processing
Review of banking documents
Review DGR documents
Monitor proper updating of department documents
Review routing and carrier selection
Maintain superior customer service relationship with existing accounts
Provide quotes to overseas agents in timely and efficient manner
Report anomalies in operations and new customer requirements to management for decision on additional service requirements.
Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of export processes and regulations. Knowledge of FCL/LCL; weights and measures; special loading constraints; and certificate for handling hazardous materials or related experience.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to grasp extensive knowledge while dealing with a variety of people
Highly organized and detail oriented
Bi-lingual is a plus
Willing and able to learn new tasks with training provided
Ability to read, analyze and interpret verbal and written requests and directions
Working knowledge of Windows operating system and Microsoft software applications (i.e.Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to work with demanding deadlines
Ability to work independently in a professional manner to meet internal and external customer's requests
Must be detail oriented, thorough, accurate, and solve problems efficiently
Hazmat certification preferred. Current Certified Export Specialist designation preferred.
Minimum 2years work experience in export operations in a related environment
