The Clinical Systems and Supply Planning (CSSP) organization is comprised of centralized and dedicated Process Owners of clinical development processes and System Owners for clinical development systems. We are accountable for the design, sustainability, as well as efficiency and effectiveness of end-to-end global clinical development processes. We are also responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical information management and process automation strategies and plans. The processes and systems owned within CSSP are executed by anyone across the company who has a role in the design, planning, and execution of clinical trials.
The Consultant-Clinical Systems, will serve as the expert for clinical systems supporting clinical development. In this specific role, you will define and execute implementation plans to deliver on Decentralized Trial and Mobile Healthcare strategies, integrations and improvements specifically related to Lilly's COVID-19 trial portfolio. As Mobile Healthcare is a growing capability at Lilly and critical to the execution of the COVID-19 portfolio of trials, the Consultant will work with various vendors to be responsible for ensuring mobile healthcare provider coverage for clinical research sites and patients across multiple trials. The Consultant is responsible for collaborating with business partners to enable development, implementation and support of streamlined, clear and compliant systems to support clinical development. This role will also work closely with vendors, industry authorities and related organizations to optimize Lilly’s capabilities to support business and customer-focused, efficient clinical development.
Clinical Development, Technology and Implementation Expertise
Understand business strategies, processes and technology related to clinical development
Serve as domain expert to ensure data, process and/or technology are optimized across clinical systems
Support internal audits and external inspections
Lead organizational change, communication and training inclusive of planning, implementation and support; Lead transformation from existing (to new) business processes and technologies, across sites, countries, functions, and business units
Influence internal and external adoption ensuring optimal uptake and usage of technologies and business processes
Define, lead and execute plans to deliver on technology strategies and improvements
Develop critical success factors for pilots/projects and monitor progress to ensure clear criteria exists to enable decision making and to track progress towards goals
Identify, monitor and communicate global customer needs/requirements related to process and/or technology performance and improvements
Provide guidance into forecasting and tracking expenses and anticipated value
Identify project implementation and system execution risks and raise issues appropriately
Lead progress reporting activities and system metrics to leadership, process owners and end users
Partner with process owners, leadership, Quality and Information and Digital Solutions to ensure capable, integrated and efficient technology usage across the portfolio
Work with vendors to improve customer experience and efficiencies
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or health related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience in medical, quality, clinical drug development, or clinical information flow
Demonstrated ability to work through sophisticated process improvement coupled with technology
Knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements governing clinical development
Direct experience in clinical design, document management, and activities that prepare for study, country and site readiness
Solid ability to influence a team and network with senior clinical leadership
Knowledge and/or experience in project management and organizational change with Lilly staff and vendors, industry experts and related organizations
Good interpersonal and leadership skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability and experience in positively handling and resolving conflict
Passionate about improving technological solutions using new and emerging technologies
Ability to balance multiple activities, prioritize and manage ambiguity
Demonstrated exemplary teamwork/interpersonal skills
Demonstrated problem solving, attention to detail and result oriented behaviors in a fast-paced environment.
