Description

The
Administrative Specialist in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine's Department of
Thoracic Medicine and Surgery provides administrative support to the clinical
research team.

Responsibilities
include: entering data into clinical sites under the direction of the Clinical
Nurse Manager; following-up with clinical research study subjects via phone;
performing administrative tasks such as organizing and maintaining files,
correspondences, other records, and reads and routes incoming mail/packages. In
addition, the Administrative Specialist coordinates and arranges meetings including
reserving facilities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's
Degree and at least two years of directly related administrative experience in
an academic environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience
may be considered.

Skills and Abilities:

*Demonstrated
proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

*Strong
customer service and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to
effectively interact with a diverse group of students, faculty, administrators
and staff.

*Strong
attention to detail.

*Strong
written and verbal communication skills.

*Demonstrated
resourcefulness, initiative, and follow-through.

*Demonstrated
ability to proofread, edit and compose correspondence.

Preferred
Skills:

*Spanish Speaking
