2nd Shift Coordinator 2 at LSC Communications in Appleton, Wisconsin

Job Description:

Oversee manufacturing operations shift in one of the following areas: Press, Bindery, Prepress or Maintenance with the objective of maximizing productivity of quality products while minimizing costs. Ensure that all processes are being followed in the completion of work tasks. Provide instruction and guidance to employees and audit work processes and products to confirm production specifications are met. Oversee operations, maintenance, and purchase and stocking of supplies and raw materials. Maintain and updates daily production records and produces reports as necessary. Ensure that safety procedures are followed by all employees.

Position Specific Details:

• $150 Sign On/$150 at 6 months
• $0.50 (USD) second shift differential.
• Base hours of 3pm-11pm, overtime as needed, at our Appleton distribution facility on Lake Park Road.
• Key Tasks:
  
  
  • Work & assist in leadership within multiple departments including fulfillment, shipping, receiving, assembly, order planning, & inventory.
  • Will lead, coach, mentor, motivate & inspire employees by consistently demonstrating role model behavior.
  • Work alongside supervisor to plan & direct department activities & establish priorities. Ensuring inventory accuracy & timeliness.
  • Assigning tasks to employees & redirecting as needed.
  • Training technical processes to employees.
  • Makes decisions that are best for the facility in a whole. Look for continuous improvement processes/procedures to increase efficiency.
  • Promote & follow safety standards procedures.
  • Attend/participates in regular production & planning meetings.
  • Assist with interviews.
  • Communicates effectively & appropriately with all employees & contract workers.
  • Maintains necessary level of communications between shifts.
  • Resolves & assists employees in solving work problems.
  • Provide prompt follow-up to employee questions & concerns.
  • Full responsibility of shift when supervisor is out.
  
  

• Able to apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
• Able to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric procedures in standard practical applications.
• Able to read and interpret work instructions. Read safety rules, instructions in the use and maintenance of shop tools and equipment and methods and procedures in mechanical drawing and layout work.
• Able to communicate effectively in writing using proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech.
• 1+ years experience overseeing production operations in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Job requires ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
