CNC Machinist at FactoryFix in Oregon, Illinois

Job Description:

A company in Oregon, IL is looking for a CNC Machinist for a 1st shift opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Set-up machines, modify the program as necessary, install tool registers, and offsets


• Check parts for dimensions and proper finish against prints


• Install fixtures, make machine control settings, and run first piece sample parts


• Run multiple machines at the same time as required


• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements


• Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on materials or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining


• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required


• Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, handtools, and power tools


• Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks

• High School or GED Diploma


• Must be self-directed and have the ability to work with minimal supervision


• Experience in a production manufacturing environment


• Minimum of 5 years experience as a CNC Machinist


• Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts


• Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
