Overview

Two Six Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Data Platform and API development expertise to support the development of systems that are revolutionizing how customers in defense and security understand complex operational environments. In this role, you'll be joining a fast-paced, cross-functional development team focused on the implementation and deployment of distributed, high-volume data architectures.

As a successful candidate, you have hands-on experience with database technologies, data intensive microservices, and polyglot persistence backends. You thrive working in a collaborative development environment to integrate a broad variety of emerging research technologies. And, while you're deeply technical and enjoy working in the code, you maintain an appreciation for customer needs and awareness of evolving mission requirements.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support development of core data layer technologies, to include data models and APIs


• Integration of data components spanning multiple database types including relational, document, key-value, and graph schemas


• Ensur ing scalability and latency requirements are met and evolve with system architecture


• Interaction with and integration of third-party-developed components into a cohesive system


• Develop and execute on testing plans


• Identification and triage of architectural performance choke points and low-level systems research into optimizations

Qualifications

• F our-year degree in Computer Scien ce (C S), Electrical Engineering (EE), or Math, and two years of related job experience


• Working experience designing and implementing microservice architectures to integrate disparate technologies


• Fluency in Java and Python


• Experience with Linux scripting and configuration management tools


• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services


• Familiarity with Agile methodologies


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Willing to jump in and solve hard problems. Know when to ask questions to ensure the job's done right.

Nice to have:

• Advanced degree in CS, EE, or Math


• Experience creating and implementing automated testing at the integration and system level


• High-availability system experience


• Experience in fast-paced, iterative design and delivery environments


• Experience working in research and development environments


• An active DoD clearance (Secret or above)
