A Quality Control Manager is responsible for the overall management of a project’s Quality control organization.
Essential Job Functions
Development and maintenance of a division QA/QC plan.
Development and maintenance of project specific QA/QC plans.
Development and maintenance of task specific QA/QC procedures.
Development and maintenance of quality related documents and forms.
Represent the construction division in any quality related matters.
Responsible to oversee and implement improvements to the existing document control systems.
Provide supervision, support and guidance to the project QA/QC personnel.
Provide supervision, support and guidance to the document control personnel.
Verify through audits/reviews that projects are completed in compliance with all regulations, codes, project specifications, and division QA/QC procedures/plans.
Verify through audits/reviews that quality documents/records are properly processed and stored for future use.
Ensure that all division QA/QC personnel understand and are able to execute the requirements of their positions.
Assist Engineering and Project Management personnel with the development of project planning to ensure compliance with all regulations, codes, project specifications, and division QA/QC procedures/plans.
Evaluate and track noncompliance issues/trends on projects and assist in the modification of plans and procedures to reduce such issues with minimal effect to project efficiency.
Gather various existing welding procedures and establish a set of division wide welding procedures to create symmetry across projects.
Development and maintenance of welder qualification and continuity records.
Establish and oversee procedures for the completion of accurate and comprehensive project final data books.
Audit/review project final data books to ensure compliance with existing procedures and contractual requirements.
Follows company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an “Incident and Injury Free” work environment
Requirements
5+ years overall experience with at least 2 years as a Quality Control Manager, marine construction or related field experience preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science required
Proficient in Microsoft Office
This position requires fluent use of the verbal and written English language
Physical Requirements
Must be willing to take a post-offer physical
Must be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels
Work will frequently require individuals to push, pull, bend or stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders that have capacity limits of 300 lbs.
Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts up to 50 lbs. unassisted
