Under the supervision of the Manager, the Warehouse/Distribution Specialists receives, stores, and distributes merchandise as needed and must fulfill material requests in a timely manner while adhering to all safety guidelines. The Distribution Specialist is also responsible for inventory duties and are accountable for loss of goods, and ensure adequate levels of necessary supplies at all times. Finally, the Distribution Specialist may order and will need to negotiate and facilitate relationships with vendors accordingly.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required
Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience working independently or in a team.
United States Driver’s License and ability to drive as needed.
Excellent experience with forklift and other warehouse equipment. (OSHA certified)
Multi-tasking and being able to maintain flexible in a fast passed environment.
Excellent Computer Skills in Microsoft Office and office products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to for conflict resolutions and negotiations skills.
Bilingual in any language a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES
Executing the distribution processes, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements to sorting, collection and collation.
Keep official records for incoming and outbound cargo, verifying and refusing cargo.
Manage and mitigate handling errors, damaged goods and other failures.
Demonstrate appropriate packaging, handling and labeling.
Attends department, store and safety meetings
Providing quality service to all internal and external customers.
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain accurate Pre-Trip and Post-Trip records.
Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
Secure loaded equipment per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary.
Secure customer signature on all deliveries, if not already signed.
Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries and pickups.
Maintain and comply with company procedures and policies while driving.
Perform vehicle inspections daily.
Notify warehouse manager of any scrapes, dents, or accidents.
Performs duties in compliance with company safety standards.
Performs other duties as requested
EXPECTATIONS
Follow all delivery policies and procedures at all times.
Adhere to delivery and processing of deliveries time line.
Meet and maintain the accuracy guidelines at 100% at all times.

To ensure needs of the client as identified by the IDT are met and client sanitation is achieved.
To ensure that the program is operated in compliance with the contract scope of work. Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s policies and procedures and licensing and Medicaid Waiver regulations.
