Job Description:

The Acquisition Specialist - Senior shall possess experience in providing acquisition and business operations support services. The Acquisition Specialist should be familiar with government policies and procedures, have good analytical and excellent time management skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Deliverables):

Includes the following:


  • Assist with pre-award and post-award contracting support procedures that include, but are not limited to: solicitation preparation, modification preparation, market research, contract document preparation, reviewing contract list for potential close-outs, and various other contract closeout tasks in accordance with the FAR, DFARS, AFARS, and other required policies, procedures and guidance.

Supervisory/Management Authority:

  • May be required to manage or mentor intermediate acquisition specialists.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester hours in accounting, law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
  • Minimum of DAWIA Level III or equivalent certification in Contracting, is preferred.
  • At least four years (4) within the past ten (10) years hands-on work as a contract specialist on DoD contracts. Hands-on experience with performance-based contracting, and contracting by negotiation as referenced in FAR Part 15.
  • Experience must include source selections using best value trade-off analysis for determination of contract award.
  • Shall have the ability to proficiently communicate in the English language

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with Pre and Post award actions administering fixed-price, time and material, and cost reimbursement contracts tasks is required Knowledge, training, and experience with the FAR, DFARS, AFARS, and other DoD procurement regulations and polices.
  • Must have experience with SPS/PD2, WAWF, EDA, VCE, and other systems used for DoD procurements. Experience with Pre and Post Award tasks is required.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft products (Word, Excel)

Work Environment:

  • Work will be performed primarily in a climate controlled office environment.
  • May require occasional lifting or moving of items up to 25 lbs.

Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance clearance with ability to obtain SCI.
