Systems Engineer
This is a key position for a systems engineer possessing a diverse skill set and strong leadership skills to help drive the development of next generation products and the system architecture that supports those products. The ideal candidate will have experience in class III implantable medical device systems engineering and a proven track record of working in interdisciplinary teams spanning system design, sub-system design, design transfer and product maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities
Candidate Profile
Take a technical leadership role in the design and evolution of our next generation architectures for the creation of implantable medical devices.
Lead system engineering team members and sub-system teams to capture and verify system requirements.
Work with interdisciplinary sub-system teams to synthesize system requirements into a system architecture and then to refine that architecture into cutting edge products.
Work with marketing, clinical, applied research, software, hardware, VLSI, mechanical and manufacturing teams on next generation platforms to enable future products with innovative features and optimized for serial manufacture.
Lead design analysis efforts to determine critical trade-offs and to optimize system performance.
Work with the system team to support risk management activities.
Follow best practices in systems engineering appropriate for the development of high-quality medical devices.
Use critical thinking to analyze, troubleshoot and/or explain perceived or real discrepancies between system expectations and observations.
Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the manager
Education / Experience Requirements
BS Degree in engineering in the field of electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, systems engineering or related field
4 years graduate-level coursework and/or experience in systems-level medical device design & development
3 years of experience working with requirements management tools and writing product requirements
1 year of experience in class III implantable medical devices
Demonstrable success in driving one or more projects to completion
Demonstrable skills in working with complex data sets to analyze trends and project future expected performance of products in the market
