Process Automation Engineer























The process automation engineer is responsible for the development and integration of advanced process solutions for fully automated assembly lines for class 3 medical devices. This role extends from responsibilities for production integration and validation of new technologies and automation equipment to developing the process automation solutions and the integration into the digital factory systems like MES. As a technical expert, the candidate will provide internal operational and development support as well as interface with international corporate teams.





Primary Responsibilities Candidate Profile


  • Work effectively at different levels of the organization and across various technical and operational departments.

  • Implementation of next generation automation equipment for assembly and inspection processes. Defining technical specifications with internal stakeholders, interacting with vendors and follow-through for the entire implementation process up until final site acceptance testing, including full ownership of qualification activities and technical and quality documentation.

  • Identification of new technologies for assembly, handling and inspection processes. Working with internal and external resources from feasibility to production implementation.

  • Contribute to product platform development efforts with design for manufacturing for current and new process technologies in collaboration with local design and development groups.

  • Defining requirements for MES integration of new automation equipment, new process or product introductions and providing support for validation and technical documentation. 

  • Work within existing internal development and operation standards and procedures while also contributing to continuously improving and extending these standards and procedures.

  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.




Education / Experience Requirements


  • Bachelor of Science degree in in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Control/Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.

  • 2 yrs experience - experience with 24x7 manufacturing environment

  • Experience with working in environment with MES, ERP and BI enterprise systems

  • Experience creating and managing project plans

  • Experience with statistical methodologies (such as Design of Experiments) for problem solving and optimization
