Service Technician - Breakroom - Elkridge, MD at The Supply Room in Elkridge, Maryland

Job Description:

I.             POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for installing, cleaning, servicing and repairing breakroom equipment. Can properly plum water sources from existing plumbing. Provides timely and friendly service on site in customer’s location.                

II.            POSITION EXPECTATIONS


  • Handle installation and upkeep of all breakroom equipment which TSRC has loaned or leased to our customers. Provides proper testing on site to ensure that equipment is functional.

  • Ability to plumb and connect water sources to equipment and provide a water tight environment.

  • Plans daily route based on customer location and loads necessary supplies.

  • Prepare and load outgoing equipment, samples, and parts/accessories for new machine installations, exchanges, and service requests based on work orders entered by the Customer Service team.

  • Coordinates installation with TSRC Sales and the customer. Provides basic equipment demonstrations when required.

  • Plan and execute setup of equipment on location in a manner that meets with TSRC install guidelines and the customer’s needs.

  • Perform on-site equipment repairs, exchanges, and removals upon request.

  • Work with the customer directly to arrange service date and time.

  • Perform the required service and update all concerned parties when the problem is resolved.

  • Completes on-site water filter exchanges and machine cleanings when scheduled.

  • At time of completion, log all relevant service information for work orders and get customer signature on dedicated handheld device and/or service paperwork.

  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Understands all company safety guidelines and protocols outlined in the Safety Handbook.  

  • Follows up on vehicle maintenance and inspections according to federal, state and company guidelines. Monitors personal GEO Tab statistics behavior and maintains safety compliance standards. Fully understands all company safety protocols.

  • Maintains a safe and clean vehicle and working environment by complying with policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Meets company standards for attendance and punctuality.

  • Other duties as assigned.              

III.           SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

IV.          MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education, Certifications and /or Licenses:


  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

  • High School Diploma is preferred, but not required.

Experience:


  • 3 years of prior equipment service experience in a customer facing role is preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to plum in equipment using existing water lines.

Knowledge/Skills:


  • Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment.

  • Must be able to read blueprints and diagrams.

  • Mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of plumbing and electrical concepts.

  • Basic math and computer skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; able to exchange information with others.

  • Ability to understand and follow direction.

  • Can work independently.

  • Ability to use basic tools and equipment.

  • Be able to prioritize duties to meet daily company standards.

  • Focused on detail oriented tasks.

  • Able work independently and/or collaboratively within a team.

  • Manage and organize time to meet objectives and deadlines.

V.            PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be required to do the following:


  • Ascending/descending ladders, stairs and ramps.

  • Perform activities such as balance, bend/stoop, crouch, kneel, push/pull, reach, squat.

  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs unassisted.

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.

  • Operating motor vehicles or standard warehouse material handling equipment.

VI.          WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT               

While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works in a fast-paced, noisy, non-temperature controlled environment, varying between internal warehouse environments, delivery vehicles, outdoors, and internal/external customer locations.
