The Sr. Claims Examiner will work in a collaborative environment to investigate and settle claims promptly and equitably while building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external customers, including clients, underwriting and service teams. MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Day to day handling of a caseload primarily consisting of General Liability claims, but includes 20-25% Auto Liability claims

•Receives assignments, reviews claim and policy information, evaluates coverage issues and draft coverage letters

•Investigates, manages litigation, evaluates exposure, and negotiates settlements

•Attend settlement conferences and mediations

•Sets reserves within individual authority limits and prepares appropriate (and appropriately- timed) reports requesting authority, if excess individual authority

•Multi-task varied, significant, and occasionally complex matters

•Work with internal and external business partners on challenging caseloads

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Claim/Legal experience required


• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience


• Experience handling litigated claims
