POSITION OBJECTIVES:

The position will work closely with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) acting as an enabler for strategic initiatives and ensuring execution of key priorities. S/he will be charged with building alignment on strategic initiatives with the HRLT and broader organization to include planning, communicating, and operationalizing strategic programs for Global HR.

As a critical partner, the HR Portfolio and Program Manager will engage with and build relationships inside and outside of Takeda to enable execution of the HR Strategy and Roadmap.  S/he will work with Global HR Leaders and the CHRO to create and approve the rolling 3 year road map of projects and initiatives that impact the enterprise.

The HR Portfolio and Program Manager will implement portfolio management and governance processes, templates, tools, train and support HR colleagues, leverage best practices and integrate creative analytical approaches to enhance portfolio planning and performance, and enable portfolio performance discussions and decisions at strategic initiative reviews.  S/he will support the HR strategy, roadmap and portfolio processes, and develop and maintain performance dashboards. The position will also serve as a program manager for special projects, driving both the strategy and execution.

The position understands and completes complex tasks and drive organization-wide impact, enabling GHRO to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Monitor and communicate progress against portfolio delivery within Global HR


  • Measure/monitor progress against HR strategic initiative and portfolio goals and help drive teams delivery to meet business objectives.

  • Partners with HRLT and HR program managers to ensure operational excellence in strategic initiative delivery across Global HR.

  • In collaboration with the HR Strategic Initiatives Leaders and HR program managers, ensure that programs within the HR portfolio have integrated program plans that align with the overall strategic and operational roadmap.

  • Provide ad-hoc and regular updates to HRLT and CHRO on key project deliverables and milestones.
     

Manage key milestones and project objectives across the HR portfolio


  • Develops portfolio metrics and dashboards to ensure accurate reporting of HR strategic initiative and project milestones and timelines.

  • Tracks and develops dashboards for key strategic initiative milestones.

  • Facilitate regular HR portfolio update discussions with HR Strategic Initiative Leads and HR program managers to ensure HRLT and CHRO are well briefed with respect to timing of HR strategic initiatives.

  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of content in portfolio and project management tools.

  • Monitors milestones and operational details of the HR strategic initiatives in partnership with HR Strategic Initiative Leaders and HR program managers to ensure the most updated project forecasts are accurately captured in the source system.

  • Interfaces with HR program managers to ensure project plans accurately capture the most updated initiative strategy and timing.

  • Partner with HR Strategic Initiative Leaders and HR program managers to provide regular updates through HR Strategic Initiative Reviews with CHRO and HR Initiative Reviews with CEO
     

Provide key portfolio analytics to help drive HR portfolio delivery and resource optimization
 


  • Conduct routine and ad hoc portfolio analytics for HRLT or CHRO.

  • Reviews and analyzes resourcing information for HR portfolio and provides regular and ad-hoc summaries to Global HR Leaders or CHRO as requested.

  • Develop improved resource tracking and analytics for Global HR Leaders.
     

Manage, develop and improve upon existing HR portfolio and project management tools


  • Administer the HR project management system and serve as primary point of accountability for administration of the system including training, budgeting and management of the vendor.

  • Monitor and manage key content within the portfolio and project management tool.

  • Recommend and implement new processes, approaches, or tools in support of HR portfolio reporting.

  • Develop and Implement new processes to streamline portfolio delivery and governance.

  • Serve as a program manager for special projects, driving both the strategy and execution.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:


  • 5+ years of HR experience with 2+years of complex global matrix experience and 5+ years of project management or similar experience

  • Project Management certification desired

  • Lean Six Sigma certification or Design Thinking certification desired

  • 15% Travel, some international
