Job Description:

Overall Purpose:

Applies advanced engineering and scientific knowledge to architecture, design and development work in a Research, Development and implementation environment for high-value technology and solutions tied to the strategic direction of the company's CI/CD infrastructure for Network Cloud and VNF/CNF evolution to Public Cloud. This position will serve as a CI/CD Engineer responsible for platform CI/CD for Network Cloud Software Releases and Cloud Platform Organization leading emerging technology solutions to scale and extend Platform CI/CD from the platform up to the VNF/CNF layer to add greater value, repeatability, portability and scale.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Conducts design and development work in the areas of new cloud native products/technologies, systems/platform architecture, hardware/software development engineering, technical security, implementation, DevSecOps, CI/CD and QA Design/Certification
  • Works primarily with new and emerging container cloud-native and CI/CD technologies and technical architectures on projects with a status between inception and implementation/software maturity
  • Evaluates and executes POCs to identify best in class cloud-native CI/CD tooling for static and dynamic security analysis, software configuration management, artifact/container storage, and infrastructure deployments
  • Designs a public cloud portable cloud-native CI/CD infrastructure for Cloud Platforms
  • Develops Jenkins and Tekton pipelines and plugins
  • Develops automated security certificate management
  • Participates in open source development and production of emerging technologies
  • Develops CI/CD quality gates to increase testing of Airship
  • Triages CI/CD gate failures and works with other developers to root cause them
  • Executes software deployment flows manually and develops resulting workflows in automation
  • Debugs environmental and deployment issues in Cloud Stacks including within Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, and Kubernetes workloads
  • Develops Kubernetes declarative intent for software lifecycle management
Knowledge and skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of Jenkins, Jenkins plugins, Zuul, Gerrit/GitHub/Git, Aptly/Artifactory, Tekton, Harbor
  • Expertise in Kubernetes, Kubernetes architecture, Docker
  • Experience with Deployment manifests and CRDs
  • Python expert
  • Expertise in Helm or similar experience with lifecycle managers for kubernetes workloads
  • Kubernetes package manager, template deployment and lifecycle
  • Golang experience
  • Knowledge of Ansible and Salt
  • Proven Open Source development including in Airship or related BareMetal provisioners
  • Ubuntu and libvirt
  • Proven knowledge of and experience in DevSecOps, Scrum, and Agile
Experience & Education: PhD in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
