Job Description Summary:

As a Psychometrician, you will have the opportunity to:


  • Provide measurement services in support of testing programs and ensure the deployment of valid, reliable assessments that are in conformance with testing industry standards. Establish psychometric priorities and manage the remits of external psychometric consultants.


  • Design, analyze, and evaluate exams to ensure that forms are consistent in quality and difficulty over time using R, Winsteps and other software.


  • Analyze and review item and exam performance statistics; determine need for adjustment to answer keys.


  • Conduct scaling and equating of forms within and across administrations.


  • Oversee psychometric consultants on the design, structure and content of standard setting workshops; prepare required content for workshops.


  • Analyze standard setting results and other relevant information; collaborate on CFA Institute management MPS recommendations.


  • Conduct data forensic and coordinate forensic studies with test delivery vendor to investigate any evidence of compromise of exam items. The focused is on maintaining high levels of program integrity and security of exam content


  • Ensure the security of exams and related materials; collaborate with Exam Administration & Security and Information Technology offices in exam security risk management in use of data forensics, web patrol, and on appropriate tools and protocols.


The skills and experience required for this role are:


  • Graduate degree in psychometrics or a related field (statistics, mathematics, computer science, psychology, or education) with an emphasis psychometrics, measurement, and assessment.


  • 5 plus years of experience in testing and measurement


  • Strong background in theory and application, including knowledge of Rasch IRT scaling and equating, classical test theory (CTT), and research design.


  • Professional experience with exam development and exam item writing and trialing.


  • Broad knowledge of industry-accepted measurement methodologies including job/practice analysis, item analysis/calibration, forms assembly, extended constructed response grading, rater drift, and standard setting.


  • Strong quantitative skills and exemplary attention-to-detail with a demonstrated ability to produce accurate psychometric results under tight deadlines with extensive experience in R and Winsteps.


  • Project management skills, including setting objectives and schedules, time management, designing processes and evaluation of results.
