EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years' experience in the mortgage industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Working knowledge of real estate documentation. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Loan Management System (LMS) Miser and OnBase. Detail oriented with good customer service, organizational and communication skills.

JOB SUMMARY

Perform due diligence associated with the proper review of commercial loans, multifamily loans and construction loans in anticipation of closing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform preliminary pre-closing due diligence review of multifamily, commercial real estate loans, construction loans and extensions with minimal supervision, for accuracy and completeness of required documentation, conformance with the Credit Approval Summary and authorized modifications, to ensure compliance with federal regulations and NYCB Policies and Procedures. Summarize loan terms including Borrower organizational structure, fees paid, calculate fees due the Bank and identify outstanding requirements. Identify, analyze discrepancies and/or errors, research and aid in the resolution of issues that arise in connection with review of loan files to ensure the loan can close timely, report to supervisor as needed. Interact with broker, Bank counsel, and various Bank staff including the loan officer, processor, credit analyst, appraisal staff, and supervisory Pre-closing personnel to resolve open items and closing conditions. Contact the Bank's Premier Banking division to coordinate the opening of required depositary relationship accounts involving operating accounts or MMAs in lieu, escrows, capital expenditures, debt service reserves, interest reserves, and payment reserves. Prepare Relationship Summary form detailing various aspects of the Borrowers organization structure and any guarantors. Prepare Pre-closing Checklist and Pre-closing Review Form and forward to Bank counsel. Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required. Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
