If you are a Software Test Engineer professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Bradenton, FL location, you will test new features and defects in the Syncade Suite and other related software products to ensure that these products reach the level of quality Emerson's customers expect. This position performs testing of the product from a customer perspective for release. The successful candidate will perform functional testing, negative testing, regression testing, performance testing, installation testing, etc.
 

As A SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 


  • Work with Development and Marketing groups to understand requirements and design documents.

  • Design, implement and execute test cases from a customer perspective.

  • Discover and isolate product defects.

  • Create defect reports for the Development Team documenting problems found. 

  • Validate repaired defects. 

  • Create and/or update test environments and configurations.

  • Author release notes and other product documentation as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.


  • 1+ years of experience in an IT discipline (e.g. Test Engineer, Business Analyst, Project Manager, Programmer, etc.)


  • 1+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.

  • Ability to quickly understand and evaluate a complex and evolving software system.

  • Highly motivated with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment. 

  • Demonstrated ability to meet project schedule requirements. 

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States 




PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  



  • Should have a desire to focus on software testing and quality assurance.



  • 3+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.



  • 3+ years of experience with C# programming



  • 3+ years of experience with Selenium WebDriver and unit test frameworks (NUnit, xUnit or MSTest) for browser automation.



  • Experience with Microsoft® Team Foundation Server (TFS) and TFS Test Hub or Microsoft® Test Manager (MTM).



  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMware®.



  • Knowledge of Agile frameworks and methodologies.
