Technatomy is looking for a mid-level Java developer who will be responsible for developing and supporting our enterprise test automation framework. This individual will be a member of our Testing Center of Excellence supporting both internal and client facing projects with remote team members distributed across the US.
POSITION DESCRIPTION (Duties and Responsibilities):
Work with development and testing teams to implement an enterprise test automation strategy across multiple organizations and applications
Review and analyze test cases and requirements for automation feasibility
Participate effectively in planning, estimation, and risk / issue management
Develop and maintain a common Java test automation framework integrated with enterprise testing tools to include JIRA, Xray, and TestRail
Configure and deploy test automation environments
Train manual testing resources on automation framework design and script creation
Integrate automation into software lifecycle management tools to include GitHub, Jenkins and Maven
Provides subject matter expertise in one or more applications types
Provide lessons learned and process improvement suggestions to help make the development / testing process more effective
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Candidate must be able to demonstrate expertise in the following areas:
Strong knowledge of Java and / or other object-oriented programming languages
3-7 years of object-oriented software development / coding experience
Ability to troubleshoot complex problems across multiple systems
GUI application development experience
Eclipse and / or Visual Studio IDE experience
Experience with source code control tools such as Git / RTC / Clear Case
Analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation, and testing of software
Ability to work cooperatively as a part of a global, professional team that may be distributed across geographies and time zones
Must be able to work with limited oversight from manager, work independently, use discretion on assignments and make independent decisions
Strong oral and written communication skills
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
Has Experience With:
Testing Government software applications
Strong understanding of enterprise test automation frameworks and tools
Experience with source code management tools such as Git and Rational Team Concert
Knowledge of software development lifecycles to include Agile SCRUM, SAFe, and Waterfall
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
Minimum Requirements:
8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
Strong understanding of both software development and testing practices at an enterprise level
Education (Minimum Requirements):
Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for education requirements.
Clearance: Candidates must be permanent residents of the US and MUST be able to obtain and maintain a sponsor required clearance and background investigation (DoD Secret and Public Trust Tier 4). Failure to obtain or maintain will result in loss of position
