Position Description:


Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will ensure the health and availability of all Member and Business facing production applications and services. This will involve designing & deploying a robust monitoring/alerting strategy, defining & implement self-healing capabilities, creation & updating of runbooks/playbooks, triaging & solutioning production incidents, and mentoring other operational team members in things like IaC, CI/CD, DevOps, Automation. You will work closely with the various teams in Planning, Development, QA, and Operations to development new business solutions, improve existing capabilities, and creating permanent solutions for repeating incidents.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Ensure highly available IT solutions



  • Review/Design/Implement automated pro-active monitoring strategy including tools.

  • Design & Implement resiliency and scaling into Corebanking systems.

  • Create/Enhancement existing system and service runbooks.

Influence and Drive Polices and Operational Processes



  • Create/Publish/Govern Operational Standards and Best practices.

    • IE System logging standards



  • Create and Own Metrics that matter.

    • Mean-time-to-restore (MTTR)

    • Mean-time-between-incidents (MTBI)



Operation Team Mature



  • Stay current on new technologies, practices, and methodologies.

  • Mentor operational team members on emerging technology and practices.

    • Infrastrucutre as Code (IaC)

    • Devops Culture

    • CI/CD

    • Automation/Self-Healing

Minimum formal education required for this position:


Knowledge consistent with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.


Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa.  For example, a requirement of “Knowledge Consistent with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 2+ years’ of accounting experience” could be substituted for a High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a Master’s Degree in Accounting and 0 years of work experience.  


Minimum work experience:


10+ years’ experience in all aspects of SDLC (including ITILv2 foundation), to include 5+ years as Developer or Operation Service provider, Senior Developer or Operations Service provider, and cloud experience.


Technical or specialized knowledge/skills:



  • Ability to demonstrate strategic, data-driven thinking combined with efficient implementation

  • Hands-on, self-starter with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to influence those around, above, or below their level

  • Experienced in creating and presenting technology to C-level executives

  • Able to create, lead, or participate in Agile and Waterfall

  • Symitar or experience in Credit Unions or Financial Industry

  • Proficient with OpCon or other tools like Correlation Engine, Orchestration, Automation

  • Advanced knowledge of VM and Windows system administration or UNIX (AIX 6.1 or higher) system administration

  • Intermediate knowledge of building and supporting CI/CD pipelines

  • Intermediate knowledge of building Pro-Active end to end Business service monitoring solutions

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word/Excel/Outlook).

Environmental, physical and psychological requirements: 



  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in a climate-controlled environment. Must be able to use fingers, hands, wrists for repetitive tasks such as typing, using a mouse, handling paper, currency, or coin, and operating a telephone.   Demands for visual and auditory acuity are typical of an office environment.  Must be able to interact via email, telephone, or in person with diplomacy, tact, and courtesy with all members under varying circumstances.  Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Starting Salary Range:$108,000+
