The Mathematics Intervention Teacher will be responsible for Tier 2 and Tier 3 mathematic intervention in grades 6-8. This individual will respond to internal benchmark data, identifying scholars who need additional support to the regular education environment.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.


  • Provide push in support during Math instruction through small group instruction

  • Offer daily small group lessons (5-10 students) in accordance with program requirements

  • Hold one-on-one remediation sessions and make-up sessions as needed

  • Progress monitor student growth and academic performance

  • Communicate with parents, teachers, and school administration

  • Provide mathematics specific professional development for the teaching staff and coaching as directed

  • Provides pull out intervention as needed

  • Works collaboratively with the classroom teachers and building staff to support meeting proficiency on standards and to coordinate the need for support/intervention.

  • Analyzes student data

  • Collaborates with grade-level teachers and administration to support student learning plans

  • Create lesson plans and activities to enhance student learning in areas of need

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no regular supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications


  • PA Teaching Certificate: Elementary K-6 & MS Math or Math 7-12.

  • Has demonstrated 5 years of exemplary teaching experience

  • Has strong common core math content knowledge

Minimum Required Skill Set


  • High comfort level with current educational technology tools

  • Comfort working within a cyber school setting

  • Has strong common core math pedagogical content knowledge

  • Expertise responding to and tracking scholar data

  • Clear communication skills both written and verbally

  • Demonstrates collaboration with teachers, administration, and parents

  • Strong organization and task management skills

  • Has demonstrated ability to improve student achievement in mathematics

Preferred Qualifications


  • Graduate coursework or degree in Education, Math or related field

  • Experience in or demonstratable knowledge of the field of education, specifically PA charter schools

  • This is a flexible position with opportunities for in-office or remote work options. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic). 

  • This position could include limited travel and could include limited overnight travel. This is estimated to be less than 5% of the time. Travel will be required for PD and state testing.
