This position can be "local remote." This means you can work from home some or all of the time but must be local so you can come into our corporate headquarters in Carmel as needed once we return to the office sometime next year.

Reporting to the Director of Benefits, the Benefits Analyst will perform the day-to-day administration of the KAR Global Employees’ Health and Welfare Plans and systems. This role will have primary responsibility for the Workday benefit module, compliance and ACA for KAR Global. Any testing, troubleshooting and configuration will be managed by the Analyst with the support of other team members. Problem solving and system strength will be key to the success of this role for the benefits team and Total Rewards Team.  This position will perform all duties assigned by the Director of Benefits. You must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state and federal laws are followed always as well as ensuring that no company, employee or customer information is inappropriately divulged to unauthorized parties.

Responsibilities & Duties: 


  • Administer the KAR Auction Services, Inc. Employees’ Health and Welfare Plans with a strong focus on our Workday system and employee data. 


  • Assist in developing, editing and maintaining any necessary extracts and reports from the Workday database of employee and enrollment information for management, department or vendor use.


  • Research and resolve issues across all Benefit applications; internal and external.


  • Assist with any system rollouts or upgrades from a Benefit perspective.


  • Manage the ACA system, compliance and annual filing.


  • Assist the Director with the compliance of the benefit plans, notices and plan documents.


  • Make sure both internal and external customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention for all contacts and transactions.  Make sure vendors receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention for all contacts and transactions.


  • Create and run various reports and audits for the benefit plans to ensure compliance and accuracy.


  • Resolve all customer and employee complaints and grievances in a friendly, courteous and timely manner.  Advise the Director of Benefits of any serious complaint or incident.


  • Review and benchmark data, costs and cost trends and provide demographic studies for company Health and Welfare Plans.


  • Participate in the cross training of all Benefits department positions.


  • Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins and schedules from the Corporate Office and Director of Benefits.  Maintain a good flow of communication with HR department employees and within the Corporation. 


  • The above duties are not meant to restrict, but rather to define, minimum activities. These duties may be altered to suit the needs of the company as needed.


Educational Requirements & Qualifications:  


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. 


  • Three (3) to five (5) years of benefit administration required.  


  • At least two (2) years of experience in producing statistical analysis and special reports from an HRMS system, such as Workday along with strong excel skills.


  • Must have the ability to interact with internal business partners to define, design and develop solutions to benefit issues.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; active listening and a collaborative work style.


  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products and have the ability to learn all required business systems.


  • Goal, metric and results-oriented, with the ability to establish a strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and enthusiasm among the teams with which he/she interacts.
