An exciting new opportunity for a Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical Services has just opened up with a Hospital in scenic Northern Nevada

This Community Hospital has provided crucial support to the surrounding area for over 100 years. The Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical Services will join a well respected team known for its high level of patient care and close personal relationships within the community. Accredited by the Joint Commission, the hospital offers comprehensive services including inpatient and outpatient care, medical and surgical services, and diagnostic and emergency care.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, The Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical Services will have support of a fabulous team of Assistant Nurse Managers, Medical Surgical RN’s, and Nurse Educators. This person will have clinical oversight of the unit, with the support of the leadership team.

The Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical Services will oversee a multispecialty department that provides care to a mix of patients including those requiring critical care, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology and medical oncology. This Nurse Leader will collaborate with board certified physicians who work closely across all specialties.

The Medical Surgical Services Nurse Manager will provide leadership for the process of planning, directing, integrating and coordinating activities to achieve departmental objectives. This position will be responsible for personnel management, budget planning and monitoring, scheduling, systems improvement, compliance with regulatory requirements, strategic planning and participates in direct patient care as necessary. This person will serve as a mentor to the staff, sponsoring training, skills development, and performance improvement. An ideal candidate will be someone who is a subject matter expert for evidence based practices in regards to inpatient and acute care nursing.
