OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International currently has an opportunity in Panama City, FL office for a Construction Coordinator to join our Program and Design Integrator (P&DI) Team on-site at Tyndall Air Force Base (AFB) FL.

On 10 October 2018, Tyndall AFB sustained a direct hit from Hurricane Michael, the strongest sustained-wind hurricane to hit the continental United States in over 25 years. Every facility on the installation sustained some damage with approximately 50% of the facilities damaged beyond economical repair. This program includes approximately 150 facilities valued in excess of $3B. Though the majority of the effort will be Military Construction (MILCON) projects, the P&DI will also support the integration of other types of projects including Facility Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (FSRM), Non-Appropriated funds (NAF), Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), and others into the overall rebuilding effort. The rebuild program is expected to take 5 years.

To enhance the successful completion of the reconstruction program, the Air Force established the Tyndall Program Management Office (PMO) to oversee the rebuilding effort. Michael Baker International is the Program and Design Integrator (P&DI) who will assist the Air Force PMO Executive Director and the PMO Director with program oversight and integration. The P&DI will develop guidance for the management of the program, recommend acquisition and execution strategies, oversee the implementation of those strategies, coordinate the actions and work products of a wide variety of agencies, design firms, construction contractors, and other stakeholders and analyze program performance.

The Construction Coordinator will report to the Program Integrator Lead and be responsible for assisting the Program Integrator Lead in reviewing contractor's requests for information (RFIs), change requests, submittals, drawings, samples, and other work products, and identify inconsistencies, disconnects, or conflicts. The experienced candidate should display a passion for consistency and accuracy in all aspects of this role, following rules, and the ability to effectively communicate clearly with all team members and contractor stakeholders.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS


  • Assist with review of RFIs. 


  • Assist with review of material submittals and samples. 


  • Assist with review of test results and reports. 


  • Assist with review of construction change requests. 


  • Assist with review of Project Management, Quality Control (QC) and Occupation Health and Safety plans. 


  • Assist with Feasibility/Constructability analysis(es). 


  • Assist with managing the consolidation/integration of as-built drawings submitted by construction contractors.


  • Coordinate with Off-Site "Reach-back" staff, as required. 


  • Must have excellent organizational skills.


  • Must have excellent communications skills both orally and in writing and work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplined team. 



  • Works full time at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida. 


  • Other duties as assigned. 



PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field 


  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Registered Professional Engineer or Architect in the State of Florida or a state that has reciprocity with the State of Florida, preferred.


  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certified Project Management Professional (PMP)


  • preferred.


  • Eight (8) or more years of experience managing DoD MILCON projects or programs of comparable size, scope and complexity. 


  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a Secret security clearance. Having or the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance is preferred.
