What does this role look like?

You will be responsible for assisting the manager in the direction, interpretation and administration of the Company's payroll and reporting activities.

Some of your main responsibilities will be:


  • Confer with Human Resources/Labor Relations to ensure policies and benefits relating to payroll are in place to provide proper compensation and reporting.


  • Responsible for coordinating and supervising activities of assigned staff.


  • Manages the timely production of payrolls, taxes, and fringe benefit payments.


  • Responsible for assigned cost and balance sheet reporting and reconciliation.


  • Assists manager in system development and payroll processing.


  • Works without direct supervision with some independent decision-making responsibility.


  • Supervises daily activity of assigned staff to produce timely payroll and related processing.


  • Requires overall knowledge of HR and PR policies and procedures, CBA, HR policies and Local laws.


  • May assist with implementation of HRMS system, including enhancements and upgrades.




Must-haves:


  • Associate degree in business or related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.


  • 3 - 5 years payroll experience; prior supervisory experience.


  • 1-3 years Oracle and Kronos system experience.


  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.


  • PC and system knowledge.


  • Fully Bi-lingual (English / Spanish).


  • Ability to work long hours, including holidays and weekends.


Nice to haves:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.


  • HRMS and PowerPoint system knowledge preferred.

  • Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects.


  • Ability to Maintain relationship with Union and management personnel through the administration of policies and collective bargaining agreement.
