Job Description:
This position is responsible for the preparation of Best Buy's state and federal income tax filings. This position will interact with others to help ensure that business operations are appropriately reflected in the various filings.
Activities include:
- State and federal income tax returns (including consolidated federal return, partnership returns, unitary and separate company state returns)
- State income tax adjustments, credits and workpapers
- State apportionment
- State estimates and extensions
- Federal income tax book/tax adjustments
- Federal proformas for the consolidated tax return
- Support for the calculation of the income tax provision
- Support of state and federal income tax audits
- Assist with monitoring and understanding current income tax developments that impact the company
- Assist with the implementation and monitoring of tax planning and compliance projects
The successful candidate is a team player who is organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task, focused on improving processes, able to grasp new concepts quickly, able to analyze large amounts of data and is comfortable dealing with both internal and external customers in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1+ years of public accounting or large corporate income tax department or similar experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA
- OneSource software experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Masters of Tax (MBT)
