Job Description:
Position Summary:
Responsible for leading the maintenance team to improve equipment reliability throughout the plant. The position is a key member of the plant leadership team. This position drives new technology and innovation throughout the maintenance organization. A key deliverable for this position is excellent troubleshooting capabilities to ensure equipment downtime is at a minimum. This position is responsible for leading capital projects to ensure on time and within budget completion.
Primary Responsibilities:
Directly supervises Maintenance Supervisor, and Electrical Engineers. Indirectly supervises hourly maintenance employees and electricians.
Oversees the CMMS System (computerized management system) MP2 – SAP PM to minimize unplanned equipment downtime.
Drives reliability throughout maintenance organization – RCA (root cause analysis), RCM (reliability centered maintenance) and other lean tools.
Implements new technology and innovation throughout the maintenance organization.
Provides troubleshooting support of new and existing machine components as required for production and process engineering.
Responsible for contractor selection for repair work, engineering projects and plant expansions as required. Provides approval for expenditures and initiates the job with selected contractor. Responsible for overseeing contractor work performance at plant site.
Responsible for electrical power distribution to facility equipment to assure adequate operation. Responsible for monthly facility energy usage budgets.
Reviews contractor invoices for completed work or supplies and approves for payment as required.
Ensures operations are conducted within applicable requirements (e.g. OSHA, EPA). Responsible for applicable environmental requirements for permitted plant equipment, as well as, documentation & periodic reports
Expedites jobs or projects with plant maintenance department and/or outside contractors and with the purchasing department as required.
Participates in and supports the Environmental Management System and Quality Management Systems for the plant.
Makes decisions on process improvements relating to equipment.
Makes decisions on outside factors such as utilities that affect the plant operations.
Makes decisions involving the choice of vendors/contractors to perform work within our facility.
May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description. Performs other related duties.
Education and Qualifications:
4-year degree in Engineer Field or Business-Related Field.
3-5 Years of related experience.
Work Environment/Work Conditions:
Office setting with daily work on the manufacturing floor
Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
