In this exciting role as a Sr. Software Engineer you will be responsible for adhering to Medtronic's software development process with focus on firmware and motion control design and development for both feature and maintenance releases of the O-arm Imaging System. In this role, you will work on designing, debugging, testing and validation of new and existing firmware of the product or supporting systems for services and manufacturing.

A Day in the Life


  • Supports software development and release activities, including requirement, design, test definition, documentation, build management, configuration control, and regulatory.
  • Designing, developing, coding, testing and debugging embedded software system.
  • Software design, development, testing and documentation; in accordance with Medtronic Navigation Littleton Software Development processes
  • Reports and/or resolve software bugs/issues as well as field-originated troubleshooting tasks.
  • Maintains projects and documentation according to ISO and GMP guidelines, while following the Medtronic Navigation Littleton Software Development process.

Must Have:

Minimum Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. in Engineering (Software, Electrical or similar related field) and 4+ years' experience or an advanced degree and 2+ years' experience
  • Solid programming experience in C/C++.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing software on Microchip processors and development IDE.
  • Experience in Motion control programming.
  • Self-motivated person that can work individually and lead team projects with a desire to learn new concepts and adapts quickly
  • Familiar with Windows .NET framework and C# programming
  • 4+ years of experience in developing and supporting embedded software on production medical devices.
  • Strong debugging skills
  • Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications
