We are seeking an exceptionally talented Engineering Business Development Manager with passion for tech who is excited to build technology-driven partnerships in a fast-paced environment. From the pitch, through negotiations to launch, make an impact enabling engineering product integrations across Garmin’s portfolio – Fitness, Outdoor, Aviation, Marine, and Automotive. This is an individual contributor, salaried role based at our beautiful HQ location in Olathe, KS (a suburb of Kansas City). Other essential functions include:
Support Garmin product growth through licensing, partnerships, & joint development opportunities that will enhance & support all segments
Initiate new partnerships swiftly to support product innovation and speed to market
Negotiate business terms and dissect contracts with strategic technology partners and coordinate with administration, engineering, marketing, and legal stakeholders leading to the completion of a formal agreement
Maintain knowledge of emerging technology & communicate industry insights to engineering and others through demonstrating technology and expertise
Ensure compliance with partner intellectual property branding requirements and coordinate with other departments within Garmin to ensure contract compliance
This associate needs to have aptitude towards technology partiality for or belief in the Garmin brand.
Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in a Technical or Business field from a four-year college or university, or a minimum of 10 years’ experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description. Other requirements include:
Must possess a minimum of 3 years’ business, technical, or financial industry experience relevant to Garmin’s business needs for this role
Experience with negotiating terms, dissecting contracts and tracking renewals
Demonstrated experience initiating and developing relationships related to technical products and creating win-win partnerships
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Proven track record of responsiveness and outstanding relationship building and networking
Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
Ability to explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manner
Experience forging strong, long-lasting relationships with LTE Carriers/Mobile Network Operators and related ecosystem partner highly preferred
Strong technical background with understanding and/or hands on experience with Wireless Wide Area Network technologies and IoT applications highly preferred
