As the Credit Specialist, you will play a key role in determining the risks involved with extending credit to customers. You'll carefully analyze each company's credit history and financial reports to make sound recommendations to management. What you'll do on a typical day:


  • Determine and maintain acceptable customer credit risk levels, including the evaluation of new and existing customers' financial status and credit worthiness

  • Assess and recommend credit ratings, limits and enhancements as appropriate

  • Review and adjust existing customer credit lines on a regular basis

  • Escalate to management the need to revoke lines of credit upon receipt of external information pertinent to the financial strength of the accounts

  • Review, approve, modify or decline credit review requests within established credit authority limits; make recommendations to management on proposals that fall beyond the credit authority limits

  • Serve as a backup user to all transportation management systems (TMS), during customer setup, etc.


What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • 1 year of related experience

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 4 years of related experience

  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
