Then we have the right opportunity—we are looking for a senior level Java Application Developer, on a full time basis, for continuing development of the Cloud Cruiser application. This position has a very aggressive development schedule using Agile development methodologies You will be responsible for working with the Product/Development Manager and a sophisticated team of Java developers building a commercial software product for SaaS deployments. You are able to learn quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment delivering results using Agile development processes.

How you’ll make your mark:

You have experience with web applications written in Java and Angular/Grommet running on Linux and AWS 

You've worked with underlying data stores are Elasticsearch and DynamoDB 
You will extract and consolidates usage data from various Cloud providers and services 

You will provide extensive reporting, discovery, and analytics for usage data 

You will leverage modern cloud design and deployment methodologies including CI/CD

You will build software that will enable consumption-based offerings for GreenLake, HPE's fastest-growing business. You'll work with the team from Consumption Analytics, formerly known as Cloud Cruiser, a start-up company acquired by HPE in 2017.

The SaaS-based application you will work on is built using micro-service architecture and continuous delivery methodologies. This application:

• Consists of Web Interfaces written in Java and Angular running on Linux and AWS


• Has underlying data stores of Elasticsearch and DynamoDB


• Extracts and consolidates usage data from various Cloud providers and services


• Provides extensive reporting, discovery, and analytics for usage data


• Leverages modern cloud design and deployment methodologies including CI/CD

The software we create differentiates GreenLake services from the competition and drives down the cost of delivering them.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on the products we deliver and support, while gaining experience as a Senior Core Java Developer, which can lead to future careers within HPE.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

• Code and program enhancements, updates, and changes for portions and subsystems of end-user applications software running on local, networked, and cloud-based platforms based on specific requirements and instructions


• Execute established test plans and protocols for assigned portions of code, identifying, logging, and debugging assigned issues


• Develop an understanding of and relationship with internal and outsourced development partners on software applications design and development


• Participate as a member of project team of other software applications engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for low- to moderately-complex products


• Perform other duties as needed or assigned

About you:

• You have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant discipline, OR compensating experience (see below)


• You have 5+ years’ experience in Java programming


• XML, JSON and Web Services 


• You have strong analytical and problem solving skills


• You are skilled in design for software applications running on multiple platform types


• you understand basic testing, coding, and debugging procedures


• You havee xperience with at least one database: SQL Server, Oracle, ElasticSearch, DynamoDB, NoSQL oll independently


• You are skilled in SaaS architecture and continuous delivery 


• You are skilled in micro-service architecture understanding 


• You have worked with some of the following tools: Maven, Eclipse, Spring Framework, git, Jenkins, Nexus, REST, JavaScript, DropWizard


• 
  

  You are a strong communicator and have a good knowledge of all services and products from Microsoft and roadmaps.
