Smiths Medical is hiring a Shipping/Receiving Clerk at our Olive Branch, MS distribution center.

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for the performance of a variety of data-entry tasks, such as recording and keeping records of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This role is responsible for the timely and efficient completion of a variety of daily functions related to inbound and outbound processes, which includes data-entry, report development and generation, scheduling, filing and internal and external customer communications. Position is responsible for maintaining standards of safety, accuracy and productivity.

* Performs data entry functions within assigned work area.

* Performs administrative functions within assigned work area.

* Coordinates and schedules pick-ups and deliveries

* Ensures timely and accurate shipment processing.

* Consolidates shipping and receiving in a timely and acceptable manner.

* Analysis of workload, communication with other departments, and outside business units or transportation carriers.

* Responsible for collecting, collating, and disseminating the departmental data in the appropriate report formats.

* Responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of office supplies, disseminating interoffice mail, etc.

* Ensures company policies and procedures are followed.

* Take part in inventory audits and cycle counts when necessary.

* Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety

* Be certified or able to become certified on PIV equipment.

* Physically able to be outside in different weather environments in order to check trailers/container for proper seal, document seal number and remove seals.

* Willing to work in all departments.

* Other duties as assigned.

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred

* One (1) year of experience involved in performing work in a warehouse/clerical environment that requires the use of various warehouse/clerical practices, preferred

* PC skills required (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (EXCEL, WORD, OUTLOOK)

* Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment is preferred

* Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and flexibility in meeting deadlines

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Customer service driven

* Strong team player
