Job Description:

A postdoctoral fellowships are available in the laboratory of Dr. Mario Halic in the Department of Structural Biology. Dr. Halic lab studies the epigenetic regulation of gene expression using genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and structural biology. In particular we are studying heterochromatin formation and chromatin-modifying proteins that are involved in this process. Currently there are several projects ongoing in the laboratory involving the use of cryo-EM to address processes involved in chromatin organization. We also use genetics and molecular biology to address heterochromatin formation in fission yeast as a model system. We seek an ambitious postdoctoral scientist with a strong background in molecular biology and genetics/epigenetics or biochemistry and structural biology.

Candidates should have recently earned/expect to earn a Ph.D. and have published in peer-reviewed journals. A prerequisite is experience in basic methods of molecular biology and biochemistry.
