Mental Health (Parity) Compliance Enterprise Governance & Oversight Team

The Mental Health Parity Compliance Advisor will be a key member of the Compliance team who is ready for a challenging role. This position is accountable for partnering with the Business Operations, Enterprise Risk Management, U.S. Commercial Compliance, and Legal to build a 2nd Line of Defense Enterprise Mental Health Parity (MHP) Governance and Oversight process.

Responsibilities Include:  Under the direction of the Parity Compliance Sr. Advisor:


  • Assist in the creation of an Enterprise Compliance Parity Governance program, which includes:

    • Decomposing a 7 year Portfolio program to understand which functions must now sit within the Compliance program.  Strong project management experience is required.

    • Assisting in tracking and coordinating activity that will need to be put in place within the 2nd line of defense program.  Must be comfortable working with multiple organizations to gather information.

    • Supporting facilitation of the Parity Governance Board, including taking minutes and creating presentation materials

    • Second Line of Defense testing / monitoring of Parity Compliance across all Commercial business areas



  • Establish and maintain an enterprise Mental Health Parity reporting process to monitor compliance.

  • Serves as a resource and consultant for Parity compliance risk identification, assessment and remediation of Parity non-compliance.

  • Collaborate with the business to identify and escalate issues accurately and timely.. Monitor any required corrective action.

  • Review and update Mental Health Parity related training as needed.

  • Partner with Parity Response Unit within the Regulatory organization to create and/or validate responses being provided to clients, auditors, regulators, as appropriate.

  • Promotes ongoing compliance and ethical conduct.

  • Acts a project manager and drives issues resolution and oversight of remediation plans, as necessary.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 3 years healthcare experience with background in Mental Health Parity requirements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor written and verbal communication across a variety of audiences.

  • Proven track record as an effective leader in a time-driven regulatory environment.

  • Project Management experience preferred  

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to compile and analyze regulatory and business information, and provide resolutions or recommendations for process improvement.

  • Highly collaborative individual with the ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships.

  • **Must have in-depth Parity knowledge and broad based knowledge of Cigna's operations.
