An established acute care medical center located just outside of the Greater Boston region is currently searching for an experienced Clinical Documentation Improvement RN Specialist to join their award-winning healthcare team.

This acute care medical center is home to nearly 150-beds and provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. This state-of-the-art medical facility is equipped to offer a variety of services including emergency and urgent care, primary care, perioperative services, oncology, pediatrics, and women’s health services. Reporting to the Director of Health Information Management, the Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist will monitor the quality of medical records and documentation to ensure records contain sufficient information regarding primary and secondary diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, severity of illness, intensity of services, and medical necessity. The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist is a vital resource to the clinical team that ensures all conditions are accurately coded in the final coding data. This CDI Specialist is also responsible for educating the medical care team on ICD-10 coding guidelines and documentation.

The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist will collaborate within a number of teams including Case Management, Medical Staff, Nursing, Health Information Management, Revenue Cycle, and Quality Management.  The CDI Specialist should have a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, current Massachusetts nursing license, and at least 3-5 years of current Clinical Documentation Improvement experience.
