Job Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for communications between the nursing units and the Food & Nutrition Department in regard to patient menus, diet changes, and general patient services. Must read the patient menus to patients twice daily. Edits patient selections to meet restriction associates with diet orders. Must organize and manage diet orders in a timely and effective manner. Develops menu tallies of special requests. Must be familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Must react accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient management informed. Assembles trays for patients and deliver meal trays to patient rooms and nursing units. Occasionally, may also prepare salads, desserts, beverages and other miscellaneous food items.POSITION REQUIREMENTS

* Required: Six (6) months experience as a Hospitality Assistant or Patient Services Worker II.

* Demonstrated knowledge of common diet modifications.

* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

WORK HOURS: 6:30a-6:30p

WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS: Yes
