OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT

We have a direct hire, full time, permanent opening for a Laser and TIG Welder in our Delavan Valve Focus Factory. This is an opportunity to work 3rd shift, 11pm-7am. Please make note, training will be during 1st shift and could last 5 months. After training, you can expect to start on 3rd.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Laser and TIG Welder will perform a variety of welding such as: laser welds, butt welds, saddle welds, dot welds, and repairing porosity in castings. Utilizing orbital TIG welding equipment and a variety of fixtures to produce an acceptable weld that meet the requirements as specified on the blueprint or work order procedure line and is readily polishable as required. Principle duties will include:

* Set up the laser to align and adjust the beam to assure proper fusion of metal.

* Program laser weld machine per work orders, engineering, and print specifications in relation to part size.

* Be able to select proper tooling and fixturing required to run the job.

* Set welding machines to the proper settings to achieve the proper penetration on the weld joint.

* Make adjustments required for proper gas backing for the weld.

* Inspect welds for proper fusion and for flaws such as: skips, pits, or lack of good penetration.

* Make required repairs as necessary to defective weld areas or defective castings as discovered by employees in the polishing department or when cleaning the welds or castings.

* Complete well repairs on manufactured parts, tooling, and fixtures as determined by supervision.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

The ideal candidate will have the ability to attain forklift certification and drive a forklift. You'll communicate with inventory management to point out and help resolve inventory discrepancies and properly record all heat numbers per work instruction. The Laser and TIG Welder will verify and count materials received to assure that shipping papers and materials match.

Also important, is the ability to understand basic shop math skills and be able to read mechanical blueprints. You must maintain clean welding equipment to ensure high quality welds. You must have the ability to notify quality control representatives and supervision of any parts with a high level of defects and coordinate with production department on keeping accurate inventory levels.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

* Verifiable High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

* 2-4 years professional experience
